Great week! Hard week!!

Hola!

Well, this week was awesome! Lots of things happened that were hard, but we were able to get through it and make some progress in all of the things we needed to do! Like Saturday, for example. We've been trying to work more in the area and find some people to teach. That's really hard in English work by the way. Anyways, we were headed to a lesson with a less active guy named Marc, and we sent him a text and he told us he wasn't home yet. So, we decided that we would go contacting. Well, its "cold" outside, I guess, so not many people were out in the streets. But there was this one lady unloading things from her car, and we introduced ourselves and asked if could help, she accepted our help and we moved a bunch of boxes for her. At the end, I told her that we teach about Jesus Christ and that if she ever needed help, she could ask us. And she was like, "Am I just supposed to wander the streets till I find you? Leave me with a number or something!" Hahah So we did! And we're going to go back with some members of our ward and start to teach her the lessons! After we left, we got a text from her and she told us how much she appreciated the help because her day had been a really hard day. She was really grateful.
Another great thing is that one of the part member families that we've been working with came to church! Johnny Hung and his family! We've been making some real progress with Johnny. He really seems to like when we visit! Which we're happy about. Also, Elder Cedeno left so now Elder Ashton and I are trying to keep up with our new found responsibilities. We had a 7 hour transfer planning meeting yesterday. Y'all know how I feel about meetings. hahah It was long. But I made it!
This week, once again, I was reminded of the power and authority that comes from living righteously. I am so glad that we have such a strict set of rules as missionaries, it makes it that much easier to call down the blessing and powers of heaven when that's necessary. I'm grateful for President Orgill and the blessing he has been in my life. And I am so thankful to be a missionary.

I hope you all have a great week this week! Love ya!

Con amor,

Elder Fuell

Another Great Week

Aloha!

It was a great week in Irvine! We were able to meet up with a former investigator named Mario! He has been taught for a while and has had several baptismal dates but they never have gone through. We ran into him while we were out contacting and he said we could come by. He leaves for a military base in North Carolina in a week and a half, and so we taught him about faith, prayer, and Captain Moroni. It made for a great lesson to say the least. He wasn't able to make it to church this week, but we are going to stop by him and give him some scriptures to take with him. Also, there is a part member family we have been working with. The Mom is less active and the husband isn't a member. They are Chinese and they are awesome. He always gives us the best food when we're over there, and he would make the best Mormon Dad but its hard to start conversations with him about the church. But Saturday night, we stopped by and shared a message with him and then he showed up at church yesterday!!! He didn't stay for very long, but its progress!
Also, Elder Cedeño leaves this week! He takes off on Friday! Its going to be hard to have him leave. He's an awesome missionary and I've really enjoyed being his companion.

Elder Ashton and I are still not really sure what we're supposed to be doing, but we'll figure it out. haha. I hope.
Well, hope you all have a great week! Love ya!!

P.s. Happy Anniversary Joe and Natalie! That's sweet!! Good work

See you in October!!

Hola!

Well, I guess I should explain the title of this email. I extended my mission! Surprise!!!! My new release date is October 17th! I was praying and fasting to know what I needed to do, and I got a very distinct impression that Heavenly Father needs me here for just a little bit longer! So, I talked with President Orgill, and he can only grant me a 30 day extension. I thought it'd be around September 30th or so, but I guess its 30 days from my start date, which is September 17 and not 30 days from my would be release date! I'm happy with the extension though and I've been feeling very peaceful about it, which I'm taking as a confirmation that I did what I was supposed to do!
Also, this week, We went out tracting, which normally occupies most of our proselyting time now seeing that we don't have many investigators. But this time, we took out a Priest from our ward just to switch things up a bit. I went with Elder Cedeño and Elder Ashton went with the Priest named Chris. Elder Cedeño and I were in a really good mood and had a lot of success handing out Books of Mormon, which is harder in English work then it is in Spanish work, but we didn't have any lessons or return appointments.. which is also harder in English work. While we were doing that, Elder Ashton and Chris were having some success! They were able to teach a lady from Pakistan! They placed a Book of Mormon and we have a return appointment! So I hope we get back in and have an opportunity to teach her again.
Well, that's it for this week! I hope you all have a great week! Love ya!

Con amor,

Elder Fuell
