Great Week!

Aloha!

This week has been super crazy! We've had so much to do preparing for President Clark's arrival. Its been interesting being in a companionship of 4, but its been awesome because we all get along great. We planned out exchanges last week and tonight they all start. We'll be all over the place this transfer! Elder Putnam has like 14 exchanges and so does Elder Ashton. And Elder Everett and I will be doing like 7 or 8. Its going to be crazy, but there is seriously like no time to slow down. Or to sleep for that matter! Its keeping all of us working hard though.
Something else that happened that was awesome was yesterday at church, lots of people showed up who don't normally come! And I was able to pass the sacrament, while I was passing it I walked past this guy I hadn't seen before and he looked sad. I made a mental note to go talk to him afterwards. When the meeting ended, I looked for him, but he was gone. I was kinda bummed out thinking I missed him, but a Spanish guy in one of the other ward that meet in our building grabbed Elder Ashton aside and told him that somebody had questions about the church. It was the guy! We went and talked with him for a little bit, his name is Juan Jacobo. He doesn't speak Spanish though.. which was interesting because even the white people speak Spanish in Santa Ana. But we talked with him and he told us that he has a Girlfriend who is a member in Fullerton and that he felt like he needed to see what the church was all about so he came. Elder Ashton asked him if he had felt something while he was in Sacrament meeting, and he started to cry. He told us that he couldn't explain what it was, but he cant talk about it without getting emotional. We told him that it was the spirit letting him know that its where he needed to be. Then he said, "I think you're right, I want to join your church. How do I do that? Where do I start?" And now we have an appointment with him tomorrow at 3:30!!! I'm so excited! He's so ready and humble. It was an awesome experience.
Anyways, things are great! I love my mission! And I read a quote this week that really put it into words the way I feel about it. And its by President Hinckley and it says:

"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. [The fact is] most putts don’t drop. Most beef is tough. Most children grow up to be just people. Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration. Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old-time rail journey—delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

I hope you all have a great week! Love ya!

Another Awesome Week

Hola!

This week has been great! Just lots of hard work and preparing for transfers. We are also really busy preparing for President Clark's arrival. I hope its a smooth transition but we'll see what happens. I've heard great things about President Clark so I'm excited. We are also getting a fourth companion! haha its kinda weird, but kinda cool. So Elder Everett and I are staying how it is right now, but Elder Ashton is going full traveling Assistant and we're getting another traveling Assistant Elder Putnam! I was companions with him about 7 months ago. He's great. So Elder Ashton and him are going to travel the mission and do lots and lots of exchanges in the next couple transfers and they're going to help with the transition. We're super excited to have him join us. Everything is going well in the area, we've been working with a lot of less actives.. especially because our ward list is like 500 people and we get about 150 to church on a good day. So we are working with this awesome Samoan Family named the Palelei's. They're great! The Husband showed up to church yesterday and we're helping the son to get out on a mission. They are super nice and feed us SOOO much. Its great. Love em a ton. Anyways, I hope you all have a great week! Love ya!

Awesome Week!

Hola!

This week was great! We had a lot to do, so that can be stressful, but its always fun working with Elder Ashton and Elder Everett! We had transfer planning meeting yesterday and so the week before that was preparing for it most of the time. But when we were in our area, we taught a guy named Bro. Gonzalez again. He's a returning member and it was an awesome lesson!!! We had something prepared, but before we went in, we felt like we needed to talk about how to study and how to learn from the scriptures and from prayer for himself.  It was really good, and he's not a guy that talks very much, but man, he was talking a ton and giving us a ton of good stuff to work with. The spirit was really strong and I know that he'll be able to return. ALSO, the funniest thing happened. I had to call a mission office here in California to get some information to pass an Investigator off. And it was the Rancho Cucamonga Mission again! And guess who answered the phone AGAIN? BRETT!!! Hahaha It was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing. So I got to talk with Brett on the phone again. It was sweet. And then, on Saturday, Elder LeFevre was visiting the mission and wanted to take Elder Wilkerson and I out to eat, so President approved it and we got to eat with him and it was a really cool experience to see my trainer again.

Anyways, this week is going to be super busy getting ready for transfers and preparing everything for President Clark's arrival, but it should be good.. (For those that do not know- Mission Presidents serve three years totally volunteering their time and pay for it themselves.  Dallin's current mission President is completing his three years on June 30th. I believe Dallin's mission has about 170 missionaries - both Elders and Sisters - and the mission president oversees them and helps them in whatever they might need. Its a huge task!
Dallin's first companion Elder LaFevre came to visit

Love ya! Hope you have a great week!
