Wow!
This week flew by! Probably the fastest week of my mission.
We have been working on transfers this week. A lot. We have been working with
President to build a new way to get all the missionaries transferred without
having a "transfer meeting" because the missionary department doesn't
want mission wide gatherings.. So, that has taken up most of my time trying to
figure out all the logistics of that, and President Orgill wants there to be a
spiritual side to the meeting too... so we're working on that. :) Also, the
actual transfers has been taking up a lot of time, trying to think of different
scenarios, companionship's, areas, and everything. But on top of all that, we
taught a new investigator this week named Sarah! We taught her the Restoration,
but she wasn't able to make it to church this week. We're hoping that she is
praying for a spiritual witness of the truth, I know that if she does that,
she'll get one. She has a lot of faith. Also, something kind of fun that will
be happening, is that Gladys Knight, (Yes, the one who sings 'Midnight Train to
Georgia') is coming to Irvine to do a devotional! Elder Ashton and I were able
to sit in on some meetings about it, and it sounds like its going to help the
missionary work around here. We were able to meet her daughter and talk with
her for a while. Its called The Gladys Knight and the Saints Unified Voices
choir devotional or something like that! We're pumped for that. Other then
that, not much is new! Elder Ashton is doing great and he's helping me a
lot. Although there is a TON to do here, I've been able to keep my stress
levels down by reading my scriptures and praying. Looking back on all the
experiences I've had on my mission, I've come to know that if you do not read
your scriptures often and pray daily. You will lose your testimony. We truly do
need that spiritual nourishment. I've also been trying to live by this quote by
Joseph Smtih, "When The Lord commands.... Do it". Although its been a
tiring week, I've learned a lot, and I am so grateful for Heavenly Father's
love and mercy. Also for all the things that you both (Mom & Dad) have
taught me, and continually do for me! Thank you! I hope you have a great
week! Love ya!
