Another Great week in Irvine!

Hola!

  It was a great week! We have been extremely busy and its making time go by way too fast!!! We have so much planned that I'm going to be busy to the second I'm getting on my plane... in 8 months! haha crazy, crazy. But its a good feeling. Once again, The Lord continues to bless us with a busy schedule and a great attitude about it! I love it! We had a Mission Leadership Council on Thursday and it was fantastic! We had a discussion on Faith and Desire. It was so powerful. The things that people shared and the spirit was so strong.. honestly one of the times where I've felt the spirit strongest on my mission. We have also been preparing for zone conference this week. Elder Ashton and I will be training on "Faith in our Purpose" and we're super excited for it. We've been putting a lot of effort into preparing for it so hopefully it pays off! I never knew how much work goes into preparing a zone conference! Haha it should be great!

   We also had a great lesson with an Investigator named Sarah last night. The spirit was really strong, and we hope to see her another time this week and try to get her to come to church this Sunday! We haven't been able to teach the referral from last week yet.. last night was the first time we've seen her since our first door encounter last week. But last night she talked with us a for a little bit and tonight we have a Church tour with her, and we're planning on teaching the Restoration, and setting a baptismal date! I hope it all goes well and we're super pumped.
   That's pretty much our week in a nutshell. It was awesome! I hope this week is as good.. I just hope it doesn't go by as fast! haha Love you all! Hope you have a good week!!!

Elder Hamula Visited!

Aloha! Hola! Yokwe! Hi and hello!

This week was great! Also, a pretty stressful week, but it was great! I'm beginning to feel like the rest of my mission is going to be "stressful but great!". Haha which I wouldn't mind, I guess! Elder Hamula from the Seventy came on Friday and we had a zone conference and a Mission Leadership council with him here. The Zone Conference was great! He talked about preaching repentance and the "What? Why? and How?'s" of missionary work, which I also enjoyed. He went on to talk about faith and desire in MLC! I really liked it and it helped me see the places that I need to improve. I think having more of "an eye single to the Glory of God" will help me feel and be more accomplished. Also, one of my closest friends, Elder John John, from The Marshal Islands went home on Thursday. It wasn't on the normal transfer schedule because of his flight back to the islands. He really made a big difference in my mission. He came on an exchange with me when I was a greenie, and he taught me that its really not important what you say, (Because I was struggling with Spanish, and he was struggling learning English), its how you make people feel, and he always made me feel better. Good thing he's moving to West Valley in 6 months!! Haha super pumped about that!

Also, another cool thing that happened this week! I was on an exchange with an Elder named Elder Hale, (Great guy), and we were contacting around a apartment complex, and I remembered that we had received a referral in that area, so we went over and knocked on the door, and this Indian lady opened it. We introduced ourselves and she was like, "Oh! You're the guys from the temple!" and we said something like,"Huh?" and she said, "Yeah, the guys from the temple in Hawaii" And then I realized that she probably went to Hawaii and got a tour of the temple grounds and referred herself because she liked it so much! So, I asked her if that was the case and she said it was, and she didn't have time to talk right then, but she told us that she felt something nice about that temple and she wants to learn more! So, that was SUPER sweet! I was pumped out of my mind.

Hello Family!

 This week was the hardest week of my mission by far, but I feel great! Its hard to explain, but I'll do my best. We've been re-building a way that transfers can be done more effectively while still being a spiritually uplifting experience for everyone who attends.  We've been helping President with transfers the best that we can, trying to give suggestions on who could possibly go where.. this of course is coupled by lots of prayer and fasting to do our best to discern where the Lord would have them go.  We have been getting all housing, cars, and phones to the area where they need to be in this next transfer.  It's been crazy.  In addition to all of that, we had to do multiple training's this week for the Irvine stake "Missionary Training Experience" which was basically like a youth conference MTC role play thing (That was pretty sweet).  We've been preparing for a visit by Elder Hamula of the Quorum of the Seventy on Friday, and all of this is going on while trying to proselyte in our area. This brings me to the title of this email:

President Orgill told us a story this week about when he was on his mission in Tonga.  President N. Eldon Tanner came to visit and President Orgill was assigned to drive him around the mission while he was there. He told us that as they were driving President Tanner asked him something like "How are you liking it here in Tonga?" and President Orgill went on to tell him that he loved it but when he first got there he got really sick for the first while of his mission that made it hard for him to get out and work. N. Eldon Tanner responded, "Elder, we don't have time to be sick.". President Orgill said how that comment kind of shocked him and that he was thinking, "Its not my fault that I got sick!" but he didn't say anything. He said that now he better understands what President Tanner meant as a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator; as someone who has the plan of the kingdom in front of him. When we really catch the vision of what Heavenly Father is trying to do, we can feel that way. I've felt that way this week. Not saying that I have the plan of the kingdom in front of me, but I do feel like I am so wrapped up in God's work and serving others that I don't have time for anything else! No time to eat, no time to sleep, and there is absolutely NO time to think about myself. And that is the best feeling I have ever felt. Like you always said Mom, "A busy boy is a good boy!" Haha its so true and I love it!
